Purchase seating expansion when customer queue length regularly exceeds three waiting diners visible outside your shop. Prioritize kitchen speed before seating if queues form because of slow cooking rather than insufficient seats.

Ambient shop upgrades — lighting, signage, and exterior facade improvements — sit between pure decoration and functional seating in the priority order. Signage upgrades passively attract walk-in customers during morning hours before word-of-mouth reputation fully develops, providing a modest income boost that accelerates funding for kitchen station tiers during the critical first two weeks of village operations.

Late Expansion and Decoration Integration

Late shop upgrades add rooftop access, expanded storefront facades, and premium decoration slots for interior theming. These tiers unlock during mid-to-late story chapters when reputation requirements align with natural progression for dedicated players. Interior decoration slots accept the same item pool as cart decorations plus shop-exclusive pieces from story rewards and code discoveries.

Shop decoration complements but never replaces functional expansion. A beautifully decorated single-floor shop still caps income below a modest multi-station layout with default aesthetics.
